Google launches SketchUp7
November 17, 2008
Web User

Google has announced the launch of SketchUp7 tool, which lets you create 3D models of anything from your own house to a skyscraper.

A free download, the new version of SketchUp includes some new tools including Dynamic Components, which should make it easier for beginners to grasp, Google said.

You also have the ability to work collaboratively on projects in SketchUp7, much as you would be able to in other Google products such as Docs and Spreadsheets.

Aidan Chopra, SketchUp product evangelist at Google, said: "Architects and engineers use it to design buildings and other structures. Woodworkers use it to plan their projects. And lots of people use it to figure out where to put their furniture."

SketchUp7 is compatible with systems running Windows XP, Windows Vista and Mac OS 10.4 or higher.
