Top Gear tops iTunes rankings November 13, 2008 Web User
The new series of Top Gear has shot to the top of the iTunes Store download chart in the UK after being released on Tuesday.
BBC Worldwide has put episodes of the current series, series 12 in the iTunes store, along with series 10. Each episode costs £1.89 or you can buy the whole series for £14.99.
Series 10 and 12 are the first to be sold in the iTunes Store, but BBC Worldwide said it intends to make some others available soon.
Jeremy Clarkson said: "This is brilliant. It means you can watch Strictly Come Dancing on a Sunday night, then download Top Gear and watch it on your way to work. Unless you're driving obviously."
As well as Top Gear, other BBC programmes such as The Mighty Boosh and Spooks are available through iTunes.
Simon Danker of BBC Worldwide said: "We are overjoyed with these initial iTunes results for Top Gear – which confirms we are delivering content to audiences in the way they are now demanding by giving the show's dedicated fans the chance to watch it wherever they want."
