Firefox 3 award-winners chosen August 22, 2008 Web User
Mozilla Labs has announced the winners of its Extend Firefox 3 contest.
Back in March, the people behind the popular web browser asked developers to come up with exciting new ways to make the latest version of Firefox even better.
The judging panel included Gina Tripani from Lifehacker.com, Brendan Eich, the creator of JavaScript, and Toby Padilla of Last.fm. Prizes were awarded for entries that made use of new capabilities introduced in Firefox 3 and that demonstrated excellence in user experience, innovation, and use of open standards.
Among the winning extensions are Read It Later, which lets you save interesting web pages without needing to bookmark them, and Fire.fm, which gives you instant access to millions of songs via Last.fm.
